Miles and Sarah Kuschel live in Cass County, Minnesota and are a part of Rocking K Ranch with four generations of Miles’ family outside of Nimrod. In addition to beef cattle, they produce hay for the cows’ feed supply during the winter months. Miles attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison Farm and Industry Short Course, while Sarah earned her degree from Central Lakes College.
The Kuschels are active in their local Farm Bureau. They have served on the Cass County Farm Bureau board of directors for 10 years, where Miles is currently the president and Sarah is the secretary/treasurer. The couple was a part of Minnesota’s YF&R committee from 2008-2011, with Miles serving as chair in 2011. As part of the YF&R program, Miles and Sarah competed in the Achievement Award competitive event, and Miles was a Discussion Meet participant.
Miles and Sarah are also very involved in their community. They are active in their church, Sebeka FFA Alumni, National Ski Patrol, Ag in the Classroom, as well as township fire wardens and Farming Today speakers. Miles is also on the local township board of supervisors and the Todd Wadena Electric Cooperative Board. Sarah is a high school cheerleading coach and homecoming advisor, as well as coordinator of the Miss Nimrod Scholarship Pageant.
The Kuschels have two daughters, Mackenzie and Kelcie, and a son, Rohan. The enjoy riding horses, camping, hunting, fishing, downhill skiing, four-wheeling, watching baseball or spending time at the lake.
