Paul Lanoue is a fourth generation farmer who developed his passion for agriculture while growing up on his family’s hog, corn and soybean farm near Tracy. Paul and his wife, Ruth, farm with her parents near Marshall where they raise corn and soybeans along with a 150-head cow/calf herd. They have five children: Simon (10), Mary (9), David (7), Rose (3) and Luke (1 ½).
As a young farmer, Paul believes it’s his responsibility to share the story of agriculture so it can continue to grow as a viable and noble profession.
Off the farm, Paul is a Farm Business Management instructor working directly with farmers to help them manage their farm business plans through Minnesota West Community and Technical Colleges serving the Marshall area. Paul also worked eight years as a high school Agricultural Education instructor and FFA advisor in the Marshall and Blue Earth Area Schools. Ruth is a Registered Nurse at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.
Paul serves on the Lyon County Farm Bureau board and the various community organizations. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education from the University of Minnesota. They volunteer for the Marshall FFA Alumni, Holy Redeemer Parish and Lyon County 4-H.
