Meet Ella DeFrang the 2025 Summer Communications Intern at the Minnesota Beef Council

Hello! My name is Ella DeFrang, and I’m thrilled to be serving as the 2025 Summer Communications Intern with the Minnesota Beef Council. I grew up in Zumbrota, Minnesota, where I developed a deep appreciation for agriculture and the beef industry. From a young age, I was actively involved in showing beef cattle at local jackpot shows, as well as county and state fairs. These experiences not only ignited my passion for the industry but also strengthened my admiration for the hardworking farmers and ranchers who make it all possible. 

Currently, I’m entering my junior year at the University of Minnesota, where I’m majoring in Agricultural Communication and Marketing with a minor in Animal Science. On campus, I stay actively involved in organizations that support my academic and professional interests. I serve as Vice President of the Block and Bridle Club and hold the roles of Publicity and Photo Chair for the Beta of Clovia sorority. I’m also a member of the Agricultural Education, Communication & Marketing (AECM) Club and help organize the Minnesota Junior Spring Classic.

Beyond student organizations, I work as a student assistant at the Andrew Boss Laboratory of Meat Science and in the CFANS Advising Center. These roles have helped me grow as a communicator and leader, skills I’m eager to bring to my internship this summer. I’m honored to join the Minnesota Beef Council and contribute to its mission of promoting beef and supporting Minnesota’s cattle farmers. In my free time, I love spending time with friends and family, attending cattle shows, shopping, and enjoying the outdoors. 

 I’m excited for the experiences ahead and grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and make an impact alongside the dedicated team at the Minnesota Beef Council!
