Wrap It Up

Becky Church | September 6, 2018

It's back to school, which means back to endless nights and chaotic mornings of packing school lunches for the whole fam!

It's a tedious task, I get it. But, packing a lunch gives you confidence that your child is equipped with healthy choices packed with protein to keep them stimulated for a day filled with classes and activities. To make things simple and more mainstream for your grocery shopping haul, I am going to share three different ways to make wraps! All of them share ingredients, yet bring forth completely different flavors. It's like the ease of leftovers...only WAY better.

1) Ground Beef Breakfast Wrap

You've heard it before, and I'll say it again to you. Breakfast is so important! It gets you started on the right foot before you even head out the door. Or, even better, make your breakfast wrap beforehand and take it out the door with you!

To make a delicious wrap, start with a whole grain tortilla for a good source of healthy fiber. Then, scramble eggs and add in pre-cooked ground hamburger. Stir in cheese, tomatoes, spinach and green peppers for a nutritious breakfast boasting over 35 grams of protein!

Ground Beef, peppers and onions are quickly sautéed and wrapped up with scrambled eggs. Serve with lime-cilantro cream and salsa.

2) Roast Beef Roll-up Wrap

Before you know it, it's time for lunch. Remember to keep it simple. Lunch doesn't have to be extravagant..after all, that's what dinner's for (..or not)!

Start with a whole grain tortilla, or butter lettuce for a low carb option. Then, lay down three slices of roast beef. That's right - not one, not two, but THREE SLICES PEOPLE. The more beef the better!

Top with a slice of cheese, pickle spear and mustard before rolling it up. Easy peasy!

*Wanting to change it up? Try smearing cream cheese onto your tortilla, topping with sliced beef and jam!

3) Dinner Diner Pita Wrap

Last but not least, is dinner. And guess what? Beef. It's What's For Dinner. (well duh!)

There are so many different angles you could approach dinner. Let's change things up by using a Pita Pocket. You could easily mix pre-cooked ground beef with pizza sauce and then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, mini pepperoni slices, olives and peppers.

OR

You could fill your pita with ground beef sloppy joes, make flank steak quesadillas or even these Greek Gyros. Really, the opportunities are endless, and there's more ideas where those came from on our recipe collections page! Find recipes by cut, or try our 30 Minutes or Less to tackle those busy school nights.

That's all for now! Best of luck with your back-to-school beef creations in the kitchen!
